Universal’s recent decision to move the James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie action-thriller Wanted from March to June 27 made that summer weekend a bit crowded with tentpoles considering Disney/Pixar’s WALLE and the Bryan Singer-directed Tom Cruise thriller Valkyrie already occupied that date.
United Artists seems to agree, as the studio has now moved back Valkyrie to October 3, 2008. Two other films are scheduled to open on that date as well – Sony comedy Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and the Guy Ritchie drama, RocknRolla, with Gerard Butler.
Valkyrie co-stars Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Patrick Wilson, Stephen Fry, Tom Wilkinson, Carice van Houten, Eddie Izzard, Halina Reijn, Kevin McNally, Christian Berkel, Terence Stamp and David Schofield.
